{Pinterest Inspiration} The Living Room

One of my favorite bloggers Tiff over at The House of Belongings, had an awesome post yesterday about how to use Pinterest as a design tool. This is a simple concept, but got me thinking. I have a ton of ideas for my house and it would be great to gather them all in one spot, so why not use Pinterest?

The room that I want to focus on first is our living room. We really LIVE in this room, so it needs to be fun, functional and comfortable. Here's a few of my "Pins" that  have elements that I want to incorporate in our Living Room.

First and foremost is color. In fabric, furniture and accents. I love the look and feel of this room. It's really the look that I am going for.

We will be in the market for a new TV soon and I want to find an old dresser or buffet and have my sweet friend, Dee work her painting magic on it.

I would also like to update our mission, fauxwood, coffee table with a cool coffee table made from Pallets, like this one.

Lighting is also another area that I want to update in the room. I love this modern country take on this lamp shade. I have seen them in vintage stores, but haven't figured out how to replicate them.

Now that I have a plan, it's time to get started. The first step will be painting the walls with Sarah Richardson's "Vintage" for the walls and "Snowfall" for the trim. I hope to have this accomplished by Thanksgiving, so  I better get to going. Wish me luck!
