Who Turned The Lights Out?

Wow, what a storm we had a couple Fridays ago. I think the rain came down in buckets and the wind was wild. It ripped part of our local college’s roof off, along with knocking trees down, moving a building from its foundation and leaving our entire town without any electricity for 30 plus hours.

Thank goodness for candles, flashlights and gas stoves. We cooked pancakes and eggs by candlelight, had to drive to the next town to get gas, and unfortunately had to throw out all the groceries in our refrigerator.

Finally around 9:30 pm the lights came on and my oldest daughter Grace feel to her knees thanking God. It’s amazing how advanced we are with technology, but it’s no match for Mother Nature. Parts of the weekend without power were fun, but I can defiantly say, “I don’t want to do that again anytime soon”.
